Construction work has been progressing on Sharjah’s Jabal Al-Kitab project, a rest house that is being constructed 950m above the sea level in Kalba and linked to the city through the Wadi Al-Hilu tunnel and the Sharjah-Kalba road.
The project is a part of the number of development and tourism projects that are being implemented as part of the infrastructural development in Sharjah.
Upon completion, the Jabal Al-Kitab will connect five mountain peaks to each other through a set of roads and paths. The project has been designed to preserve the environment surrounding the mountain area. It will be developed in several phases.
A construction and progress update on the project comes in line with the inspection visit by HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
As part of the project, about 1,000 residential villas that were designed in line with the nature of the mountain site, will also be constructed. Additionally, the project will also include an 80-key five-star hotel.
During his inspection visit, the Ruler of Sharjah also proposed a place for establishing honey reserves in Wadi Al Shua on the Kalba - Wadi Al-Hilu road, which extends over an area of 1,300m * 300m.
Another project that is also being constructed in Kalba and was reviewed by the ruler was the Al Hafiya rest house, which is located next to the new Al Hayar tunnel.
The project includes the construction of a mosque, restaurants, and public service buildings.
